On a summer day in Talladega, Alabama, the life of 40-year-old Jeffreon Quejuantay 'Nuke' Keith was tragically cut short. On July 5, 2025, he was found deceased inside a residence on the 1500 block of Old Shocco Road in what authorities would soon classify as a quadruple homicide. The grim discovery was made around 3:30 p.m. after a request for a welfare check at the location.
Inside the home, law enforcement found three other victims alongside Keith: Querida Lenora Rachelle Flores, 30;
Jamari Rashad Evans, 27; and Nicholas Lanod Keith, 44. All four, residents of Talladega, were victims of a shooting. The incident prompted a significant and coordinated investigation involving the Talladega Police Department, the Talladega County Drug and Major Crime Unit, the Talladega County District Attorney's Office, and federal agencies including the ATF and FBI. As the investigation unfolded, CrimeStoppers offered a reward for information that would lead to an arrest.
The investigation led to a breakthrough on July 22, 2025, when Talladega Police announced the arrest of a suspect. Daishawn Tamar Jackson, a 28-year-old from Talladega, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder in connection with the four deaths. Jackson had been previously arrested on July 9 on a charge of being a certain person forbidden to carry a firearm. He is currently being held in the Talladega County Jail without bond. While an arrest has been made, authorities have not yet released a motive for the killings and have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, asking for the public's help to identify any other individuals who may have been involved.
