Toyias Gopher, 32, a Black male from Alexander City, Alabama, was shot and killed on Saturday, July 19, 2025, during what authorities described as a home-invasion robbery at a residence in the 4000 block of Washington Street. State investigators with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation were called in around 11:15 a.m., and officers found Gopher fatally wounded by gunfire inside the home.
