When police arrived at approximately 10:30 p.m., they discovered a large crowd and 31-year-old Alexander Latrez Stevenson, a Black/African American male, suffering from a gunshot wound to his
torso.
Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched, and Stevenson was rushed to East Alabama Medical Center–Lanier in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, his injuries proved to be too severe. Alexander Stevenson was pronounced dead on Sunday, August 10, 2025, leaving behind a grieving family and a community searching for answers.
