In the early hours of September 9, 2024, at approximately 1:43 a.m. Eastern Time, the Lanett Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 1600 block of 21st Street SW in Lanett, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 49-year-old Terrance Antonio "Pooh" Jeffery suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was promptly transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
