Officers from the Lanett Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of 21st Street SW at approximately 1:43 a.m. Eastern Time in response to a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered 49-year-old Terrance Antonio 'Pooh' Jeffery suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Emergency medical services were rendered at the scene, and Jeffery was quickly transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Terrance Jeffery, known affectionately to his loved ones as 'Pooh,' was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 25, 1975. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, grilling, and riding four-wheelers. Known for his sense of humor and his protective nature over his family and friends, he was a beloved figure in his community.
