Didarul Islam, 36, a Bangladeshi-born man, was killed on July 28, 2025, after a gunman opened fire inside a Midtown Manhattan office tower at 345 Park Avenue. He was an NYPD officer assigned to the Bronx, and that evening he was working a paid security detail in uniform when the first shots tore through the building’s lobby during the rush of early evening.
