Debra Ann Slaughter, a 35-year-old African American woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, was brutally murdered on March 12, 1994. She was a deli clerk and the daughter of Alfonso Slaughter and Lovie Williams. At the time of her death, she was single and the mother of an 18-year-old son. Her life was tragically cut short in what would later be revealed as the final act in a string of serial killings that terrorized the Charlotte community in the early 1990s.
