Helen Louise Bellamy, 30, a Black woman, was killed inside her North Side Milwaukee home on April 25, 1980. She had been sexually assaulted and beaten to death with a tire jack, and her body—partially covered with a sheet—was found in the dining room by her 13-year-old son when he returned from school.
