On October 11, 1983, Isabel Askew, an 85-year-old white female, was found raped and murdered in her apartment in Los Angeles, California. The crime was particularly brutal and deeply unsettling, as it targeted an elderly woman in the supposed safety of her own home. Askew’s death was part of a disturbing pattern of attacks on elderly white women in Southern California during the 1970s and 1980s, many of which remained unsolved for decades.
