On the north side of La Crosse, Wisconsin, the morning of March 20, 1987, unveiled a scene of brutal violence that would linger in the community's memory. Inside a residence, authorities discovered the bodies of three individuals, victims of a burglary that had escalated to a triple homicide. Among them was 33-year-old Kenneth Bush, who was found shot in his home. Also killed were his girlfriend, 35-year-old Debra Reget, and his mother, 73-year-old Lila Bush. Lila had also been beaten.
