On March 2, 1972, Jake Green, a 69-year-old janitor from Kansas City, Missouri, disappeared from the tavern where he worked. His sudden absence was particularly alarming as it coincided with the disappearance of Mabel Manley, a 68-year-old barmaid employed at the same establishment.
