In the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2025, a gathering in Kansas City, Missouri, turned tragic, leaving one man dead and another injured. Calvin Bushnell, a 40-year-old Black man, was fatally shot at a residence on Elmwood Avenue near 31st Street. The Kansas City Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 2:45 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bushnell suffering from gunshot wounds.
