Jeffrey J. Hughes, a 33-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was tragically shot and killed on January 2, 2025. His death occurred in the parking lot of the Loma Vista Shopping Center, a location that had seen multiple violent incidents in recent months. Jeffrey was not alone in this tragedy—his brother, Samuel J. Hughes, 36, was also fatally shot in the same incident. The two men, both fathers, left behind a total of five children.
