Sonja Larson, an 18-year-old white female college student, was one of five victims in a series of brutal murders that occurred in Gainesville, Florida, in August 1990. She had recently moved from Deerfield Beach to begin her freshman year at the University of Florida. Sonja was known for her dedication to children and her dream of becoming an educator. She was active in her church, participated in school activities, and was remembered as a bright and compassionate young woman.
