Maliyah Jalissea Godwin, a 13-year-old African American girl from Gainesville, Florida, tragically lost her life on April 23, 2021. Maliyah was found shot just before 10 p.m. at the Majestic Oaks apartment complex in Gainesville. She was immediately taken to a local hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
