In the early morning hours of March 14, 2015, Joseph Hruska, a 33-year-old musician and artist, was fatally shot in the Little Five Points neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. He and a friend, Chaitanyalila 'Shay' Kelsey, age 32, were leaving The Star Community Bar where they had been watching punk rock cover bands. Shortly before 3 a.m., both men were found shot to death in a parking lot behind The Vortex Bar and Grill, their bodies discovered about 30 feet apart.
