Stephen Chacko, a 39-year-old male, was tragically killed on November 4, 1997, in Stockton, California, during a robbery at MFL Liquor and Tobacco, a store he co-owned. His death was part of a series of violent crimes committed by Louis James Peoples, a 35-year-old tow-truck driver who had recently been suspended from his job. Peoples was arrested and later convicted for multiple murders that occurred within a short span of time in Stockton.
