On November 18, 2024, at approximately 6:44 p.m., Stockton police officers responded to reports of a shooting near East Park and North California streets. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds: 30-year-old Richard Anthony Guerrero III and an 18-year-old man. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital, where Guerrero succumbed to his injuries, marking Stockton's 45th homicide of the year.
