Guy William Young, age 3, a white male, died on December 13, 1974, near Ogallah, Kansas. He was riding west along Interstate 70 in a red Toyota with his mother, Cheryl Young, and her friend, Diane Lovette, when the car drew the attention of 24-year-old Francis Donald Nemechek. Nemechek fired at a tire, forcing the Toyota off the highway, then abducted the trio and took them to an abandoned farmhouse in rural Graham County.
