In the late hours of a Tuesday in Wichita, Kansas, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 41-year-old Robert Dwayne Duval. On November 19, 2019, the White male was fatally shot at a landscaping business located in the 4400 block of South Broadway. The events leading to his death began to unfold earlier that day, stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred in Haysville.
Authorities were called to the scene of the shooting at approximately 10:30
p.m. where they found Duval with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to his girlfriend, Kristin R. Clark, a 34-year-old woman from Haysville.
The initial confrontation between Duval and Clark had taken place at a residence in the 700 block of East Neel in Haysville. Police had responded to a disturbance call there earlier in the day where it was reported that Clark had threatened Duval with a gun. Before officers arrived, however, Duval had left the residence. Later that evening, the conflict tragically resumed at the Wichita business where Duval was present.
Following the shooting, Kristin R. Clark was arrested and taken into custody. She was subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Robert Dwayne Duval. Her bond was set at $150,000, and she was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail. The case proceeded through the legal system, marking a somber end to a volatile relationship.
