On the evening of April 23, 2020, a disturbance in a home in the 200 block of North Charles in Wichita, Kansas, tragically cut short the life of 30-year-old Blake Mayes. Police were called to the residence around 7:10 p.m. regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Mayes on the front porch with a single gunshot wound to his body. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.
