On a Tuesday afternoon in Wichita, Kansas, on June 9, 2020, a domestic dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion. Rahim Omar, a 32-year-old Black/African American male, had gone to the home of his 24-year-old girlfriend located in the 2800 block of South Ida. An argument broke out between the couple, a continuation of a troubled history that had prompted police involvement in the preceding month. The situation grew more intense, and during the confrontation, Omar broke a window at the residence.
