Robert Hannah, a 61-year-old African American male and retired hospital cafeteria worker, was tragically murdered in Columbus, Mississippi, on October 13, 1998. He was found bound, gagged, and strangled in his home after a fire, which investigators believed was set to cover up the crime. His death was part of a series of five unsolved homicides of elderly residents in Columbus between 1996 and 1998, all occurring within a three-mile radius.
