Derrell Martrise Carr, 23, a Black male, was inside an east Las Vegas apartment on the evening of September 9, 2014, when gunfire tore through the walls and windows. Metro police had been called a little before 8 p.m. to the Mirabella Apartments in the 2800 block of East Bonanza Road after reports that multiple shots had been fired from outside into a unit where several people were gathered.
