Lokelani Morton-Speer, a 10-month-old infant, tragically died on September 11, 2014, in Laughlin, Nevada, from acute methadone toxicity. The Clark County Coroner ruled her death a homicide, though it remains unclear how the methadone entered her system. At the time of her death, the Clark County Department of Family Services had already been investigating a report of neglect made three weeks earlier.
