Jackie Nikelia Thorpe, a 35-year-old African-American woman, was reported missing on May 8, 2007. Her remains were discovered on August 17, 2007, behind a house on Seven Bridges Road in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Thorpe was one of several African-American women whose deaths raised concerns in the community, as multiple victims were found in the same vicinity over a span of several years.
