Melody Wiggins, a 29-year-old African-American woman, was reported missing on May 30, 2005. Just a few days later, on June 2, her partially decomposed body was discovered in a rural area of Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The autopsy revealed that she had suffered multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the head, injuries that ultimately proved fatal. Her body was found partially clothed, further deepening the mystery surrounding her death.
