On December 29, 2024, at approximately 3:20 PM, Irving Police officers responded to a shots fired call at the 2200 block of Fairfax Drive in South Irving. The call was later upgraded to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered 36-year-old Jessica Reecie Thomas, a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities ruled her death a homicide.
