On January 19, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Irving Police Department responded to a shooting at the Park Springs Apartments in the 2000 block of West Irving Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found 55-year-old Juana Medina Rodriguez deceased at the scene. Her daughter, 23-year-old Nayeli Bolaños Medina, was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
