On January 21, 2025, 80-year-old Ardalia Davis, an African American woman from Alice, Texas, was tragically killed in her home. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Alice Police received a 9-1-1 call from 43-year-old Howard Harris, who reported that he had shot his mother. Officers arrived at the residence on Escobar Street and discovered Ardalia Davis lying on the couch with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
