On the morning of March 3, 2025, 5-year-old African American girl R’mani Sibley and her father, 35-year-old African American rapper Ronnie Sibley—known professionally as G$ Lil Ronnie—were fatally shot at Slappy’s Express Car Wash in Forest Hill, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth. R’mani had just been dropped off by her mother moments before the attack.
Surveillance footage captured the incident: two Black men exited a white four-door Kia, approached Sibley’s vehicle, and opened fire. Sibley attempted to flee but was chased and shot multiple times. R’mani remained in the car and was struck by at least three bullets that penetrated the windshield. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified the suspects as 24-year-old Adonis Robinson and 21-year-old Jakobie Russell, both from Fort Worth. Robinson, a registered sex offender with prior convictions, was arrested on March 6 in Livingston, Texas. Russell, with a history of assault charges, surrendered to authorities the following day. Both men face capital murder charges and are being held on $1.5 million bail each.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Authorities are examining Sibley's music career and social media activity for potential leads.
Funeral services for Ronnie and R’mani Sibley were held on March 20, 2025, at Great Commission Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Attendees wore pink, R’mani’s favorite color, in her memory. The community continues to mourn the loss of the young girl and her father.
