On the evening of January 14, 2025, a young Black/African American man, 23-year-old Dequon Garrett, lost his life in a fatal shooting on the north side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 90th Street and Hampton Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Garrett with gunshot wounds to his head and abdomen; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Near his body, investigators discovered two handguns and spent shell casings.
