On March 23, 2025, 17-year-old Casey Smith, an African American male from Dallas, Texas, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. At approximately 5:30 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a call regarding a vehicle crash in the 1500 block of East Overton Road in the East Oak Cliff neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered Casey Smith inside the crashed vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
