On October 25, 2020, Demarion Marquis Glasco, a 27-year-old male, was fatally shot at the Aces of Dallas nightclub in Northwest Dallas. Glasco, along with two other victims, Darryl Wayne Nellums Jr. and Tavion Ellis Rice , were shot during an early morning altercation at the club. Glasco and Rice were taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Nellums Jr. died at the scene.
The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. after a fight broke out inside the club.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene with people running and ducking for cover as gunfire erupted. The club was packed with hundreds of people for an event headlined by social media influencer Jayda Cheaves.
Following the incident, Dallas police identified Cameron Craig, a 20-year-old male, as a suspect in the shooting. Craig was arrested on November 3, 2020, and charged with capital murder. He remains in custody at the Dallas County jail. Police are still investigating the case and seeking the identities of two other individuals seen in surveillance footage entering the club.
The tragic event has deeply affected the families of the victims, including Glasco's father, Don Glasco Jr., who described his son as a hardworking individual who was just starting to build a life for himself and his children. The city of Dallas has seen a significant increase in homicides, and local authorities are working to address the rising violence.
