On October 30, 2020, Cozie Arvalester-Jermaine Mathis, a 21-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, was shot and killed in the Claremont neighborhood. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when officers responded to a call at the 2400 block of Wildoak Drive. Upon arrival, they found Mathis suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately transported him to a local hospital. Unfortunately, Mathis succumbed to his injuries the following day.
