On the morning of June 26, 2025, in Old East Dallas near Deep Ellum, Drew Knowles, age 33 and male, sat in his BMW in the 2700 block of Florence Street as two men in separate cars moved to pin him in. According to arrest affidavits, bounty hunter Rodney Brown, 34, and his work partner, private investigator Jorge Moncivais, 23, had tracked the vehicle using an automated license plate reader after failing to locate Drew Knowles at a residence earlier that day.
