On February 16, 2023, at approximately 11 a.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call in the 3200 block of Quebec Street, near North Westmoreland Road and Irving Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found 37-year-old Lyrone "Fat Mike" Moore, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers immediately applied a tourniquet and pressure to the wound until Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived.
Moore was then transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following an extensive investigation, the Dallas Police Department identified 37-year-old Prince Earl Clarance Gilbert Jr. as the suspect in Moore's murder. On September 6, 2023, as part of their "#wantedwednesday" campaign, the department issued an arrest bulletin for Gilbert Jr., seeking the public's assistance in locating him. They urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477) and referenced case number 027079-2023.
As of December 27, 2024, there have been no public reports indicating that Gilbert Jr. has been apprehended. The Dallas Police Department continues to seek information regarding his location. Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to the authorities to aid in bringing justice for Moore's family.
