In the early hours of a Tuesday in March 2025, 42-year-old Henry Larvell Jordan, Jr., a Black man, was last seen walking along West Weaver Road in Hampton, Virginia. His disappearance was considered a credible threat to his health and safety, prompting a search. The search came to a grim conclusion the following afternoon when police, responding to a 'man-down complaint,' discovered Mr. Jordan's body behind a residence on the same road where he was last seen.
Initially, the circumstances surrounding his death were unclear, but the investigation took a significant turn when it was reclassified as a homicide. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound. As the Hampton Police Department delved deeper into the case, two suspects emerged and were subsequently arrested in connection with Mr. Jordan's death.
The investigation led to the arrests of 31-year-old Davon Lewis and 57-year-old Don Mann, both residents of Hampton. The charges against the two men were distinct. Davon Lewis faced a series of serious charges, including second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Don Mann was charged with offenses related to the aftermath of the crime, specifically illegally disposing of or concealing a dead body and tampering with evidence.
