In the late afternoon of February 20, 2025, a business owner in the Tacoma Tideflats area grew concerned about a vehicle that had been loitering for an extended period. A call was placed to the authorities at approximately 2:26 p.m., leading to a grim discovery near the 1200 block of St. Paul Avenue that would launch a double homicide investigation.
Inside the vehicle, law enforcement found two women who were unresponsive.
The victims were identified as 43-year-old Amber Bazan and 56-year-old Wanda Davis. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that both Bazan and Davis had died from gunshot wounds to the head and officially ruled their deaths as homicides. While Davis was identified as a resident of Tacoma, authorities noted that Bazan's address was unknown.
