Henry Martinez, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot in the early hours of April 12, 2025, in North Austin, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. at an apartment complex located at 12612 N. Lamar Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Martinez in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 4:52 a.m.
According to the initial investigation, Martinez had approached his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while wielding a
pickaxe. A man inside the vehicle then fired shots, striking Martinez. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the shooter, and no arrests or charges have been reported at this time. The Austin Police Department has classified this case as the city’s 14th homicide of 2025.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists responded to the scene to process evidence and interview witnesses.
