In the quiet town of Bluff City, Tennessee, a confrontation turned deadly, leaving a young man's life extinguished and another facing serious criminal charges. The deceased was Nicholas Feathers, a 28-year-old male. His life was cut short on a Sunday morning in January 2025, following a violent encounter on Buffalo Road.
The incident began to unfold just before 11 a.m. when the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress.
While deputies were en route, a second call from the same location conveyed a chilling update: shots had been fired, and the individual attempting to enter the home had been hit. Upon their arrival, law enforcement found Nicholas Feathers deceased at the scene. He was discovered in the road at the entrance to the Sunnyside Acres Trailer Park.
As the investigation commenced, details emerged that painted a more complex picture than a simple burglary. It was revealed that Feathers had gone to the residence with a woman to confront the mother of his children. An altercation ensued involving all four individuals. The boyfriend of the children's mother, identified as 31-year-old Ronald Wayne Price Jr., was present at the home. It was during this dispute that Price allegedly shot Feathers. Later reports from the Sheriff's Department indicated that it was determined Feathers had never actually attempted to enter the home.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Ronald Wayne Price was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence. He was subsequently held in the Sullivan County Jail without bond. Court documents later revealed a crucial piece of the investigation: a camera located on the porch of the residence, which belonged to Price, appeared to have had its footage deleted. This discovery came after Price consented to a search of his cell phone.
