Demetrius Tyreese Hines, a 36-year-old man from Greenville, North Carolina, tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting on January 1, 2025. The incident occurred in the early hours of New Year's Day at approximately 3:30 a.m. at a Speedway gas station located on U.S. Highway 264. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire and discovered that Hines had sustained critical injuries. He was transported to ECU Health by private vehicle but later succumbed to his wounds.
