On March 21, 2025, 18-year-old African American male Jameier Christopher-Lyrell Revelle of Greenville, North Carolina, lost his life in a double homicide that occurred during a botched robbery attempt in the Caldwell Court area of Greenville. The incident also claimed the life of 18-year-old African American male Tiheen Bell, also of Greenville. According to investigators, Bell and 19-year-old African American male Jaywon Demario Everett had arranged to meet Revelle with the intent to rob him.
During the confrontation, Bell reportedly shot and killed Revelle. In response, a fourth individual accompanying Revelle allegedly returned fire in self-defense, fatally wounding Bell. Authorities have not filed charges against this fourth individual, and their identity remains confidential at this time.
Following an investigation, the Greenville Police Department arrested Jaywon Demario Everett in connection with the deadly encounter. Everett faces charges including an open count of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. His murder charge is based on North Carolina’s felony murder rule, which allows individuals to be held criminally liable for any deaths that occur during the commission or attempted commission of specific felonies, in this case, armed robbery. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not released additional information regarding the fourth person involved or any potential further arrests.
Jameier Revelle was an honor roll student at J.H. Rose High School, expected to graduate in May 2025. He was remembered by family and friends as a bright light in their lives, full of love, laughter, and joy. A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Winfall, North Carolina, with interment following at Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford, North Carolina. A viewing took place the day before at Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations in Elizabeth City. In the wake of his tragic death, Revelle's family launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and honor his memory.
