This uncharacteristic absence prompted them to report him as a missing person. At the time of his disappearance, Ramey was working as a DoorDash driver, a detail that painted a picture of his everyday life before it was violently disrupted.
The investigation into his
whereabouts took a turn when his truck was discovered in Stephens County, Georgia, not far from Toccoa. Law enforcement officers in Georgia attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to comply, leading to a brief pursuit. The chase ended when the truck stopped, and the driver fled on foot, managing to escape from the authorities. This discovery of his abandoned truck across state lines added a new layer of mystery and concern to Ramey's case.
The search for Jimmy Allen Ramey came to a heartbreaking end on the morning of February 26th. His body was found in a wooded area behind a home on Brown Road in Anderson County. The Anderson County Coroner's Office later confirmed that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
In the wake of this discovery, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office identified 18-year-old Daeshawn Marquize Wilson as a suspect in the case. Warrants were issued for Wilson's arrest on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Authorities believe that Wilson, who was last seen in the Utica area of Seneca, could potentially be in Northeast Georgia. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, and law enforcement agencies are actively searching for him.
