Jocelynn Marshall, a 35-year-old woman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was found shot to death on December 19, 2024. Her body was discovered alongside her 39-year-old boyfriend, Terrell Sanders, inside his second-floor apartment on the 1800 block of Diamond Street in North Philadelphia. Both Marshall and Sanders had been shot multiple times and were pronounced dead at the scene by medics just after 3 p.m.
A longtime employee of Tastykake, Jocelynn was a mother to two sons, aged 18 and
six. Concern for her welfare grew when she uncharacteristically failed to show up for work. The tragic discovery of her and Sanders' bodies launched an intensive investigation by the Philadelphia police. Prior to an arrest, a $40,000 reward was offered for information that would lead to a conviction.
In early January 2025, an arrest was made in the case. Bilal Simmons, 46, was taken into custody and subsequently charged with the murders of Jocelynn Marshall and Terrell Sanders. In addition to murder, Simmons faced charges for violations of the Uniform Firearms Act and possessing an instrument of crime. While an arrest has been made, authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive for the killings or the nature of any relationship between Simmons and the victims.
