Death by Force

On March 17, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Columbia Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 400 block of Floyd Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 58-year-old Kevin Brown, an African American male, seated alone in a vehicle, suffering from an upper-body gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, Kevin Brown succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Richland County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity.
