In the small community of Ward, South Carolina, a tragedy unfolded on the evening of March 31, 2025, culminating in the death of 52-year-old Kimberly Waters Leon. Deputies from the Saluda County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Darling Ingredients Inc., a local animal processing plant formerly known as Valley Proteins, around 5:45 p.m. following reports of a shooting.
