On February 8, 2025, Des’mon Thompson, a 34-year-old male, was fatally shot in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. in the 3400 block of Freedom Drive, near a gas station. Authorities responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, but Thompson had already left the scene in a private vehicle. He was transported to Atrium Health Mercy, where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.
