Eduardo Alfaro Jr., a 32-year-old man, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas, on May 10, 2025. The tragic incident occurred at his mother's home, where he had arrived to take her out for Mother's Day. However, his stepbrother, 50-year-old Charles Storey, was also present at the residence. Authorities believe Storey may have been in the midst of a drinking binge when an argument erupted between the two men.
The confrontation escalated, and Storey allegedly shot Alfaro multiple times, leading to his death at the scene.
Law enforcement officials responded to the shooting around 7:30 p.m. at a home located in the 700 block of North Vista Drive in Houston. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Alfaro suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. While first responders were attending to Alfaro, they detected movement inside the room and subsequently found Storey still present. He was taken into custody without incident.
Storey was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Alfaro’s death. Authorities have not yet released a probable cause affidavit detailing the specifics of the argument between the two stepbrothers. Additionally, Storey’s next court appearance remains unclear. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the incident as a devastating loss for the family, noting that their mother had effectively lost two sons on Mother's Day—one to violence and the other to incarceration.
