Joe Damien Magallan, a 38-year-old man from Corpus Christi, Texas, tragically lost his life on May 11, 2025. The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred on Cheryl Drive. Authorities reported that the incident took place around 12:33 a.m. when police responded to a call regarding a shooting in the 4800 block of Cheryl Drive.
According to investigators, the confrontation began as a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical
altercation involving multiple individuals. During the struggle, one of the individuals involved produced a firearm, leading to a fight over the weapon. In the course of the altercation, Joe Damien Magallan, a 38-year-old man, was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Law enforcement officials arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. The individuals taken into custody were identified as 17-year-old Michael Gonzalez and 17-year-old John Salazar. Both teenagers were charged with murder and transported to the City Detention Center for booking. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine any additional factors that may have contributed to the tragic event.
