On March 27, 2025, at approximately 1:09 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 100 block of Rochelle Street in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Tyrome Gatewood shot inside a residence. Despite officers' immediate life-saving efforts, Gatewood was pronounced dead by medics shortly after their arrival.
